Oppo F11 Pro

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Oppo F11 Pro is finally set to ditch the notch and move to a fullscreen display design.
  • Oppo is also offering a massive 4000mAh battery and is coupling it with their VOOC 3.0 fast charging system.
  • It is rumoured that the F11 Pro will come with a MediaTek Helio P70 chipset.
Oppo has been playing quite aggressive in the market for a long while. Their last offering -- the Oppo K1, offered an in-screen fingerprint sensor for the first time under Rs 20,000. Now, the company is set to reaffirm its presence in the sub-Rs 30,000 segment with a new premium smartphone. The company has already teased the F11 Pro enough to give us a fair idea of what we can expect once Oppo makes it official later in the day.
The Oppo F11 Pro is finally set to ditch the notch and move to a fullscreen display design. Oppo achieves that by adopting a mechanical pop-up camera similar to the one found on the recently launched Vivo V15 Pro. As with the Vivo phones, the pop-up mechanism will only sport the front camera -- no LED flash or fancy 3D face unlock system
However, the front camera isn't the only area where Oppo is paying attention. The F11 Pro will also come with a 48-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera. Oppo is claiming superior portrait mode photos with rear camera setup. So far, it's not known whether Oppo will use the Samsung sensor or the Sony IMX586 sensor of the primary 48-megapixel sensor.
Oppo is also offering a massive 4000mAh battery and is coupling it with their VOOC 3.0 fast charging system. Oppo claims that the VOOC 3.0 fast charging is almost 20 per cent faster than the first generation VOOC charging. The phone will also sport a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor
It is rumoured that the F11 Pro will come with a MediaTek Helio P70 chipset. Oppo has already teased that the F11 Pro will come for sure with 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage. It is expected that Oppo will offer the handset with ColorOS 6.0, which is expected to be based on Android 9 Pie. The new version of ColorOS is also expected to be more optimised with smarter AI algorithms.
The Oppo F11 Pro will be available in two gradient colour variants -- Thunder Black and Aurora Green. Rumours suggest that the Oppo F11 Pro could be priced around Rs 25,000, thus making it a cheaper alternative to the Vivo V15 Pro.
Disclaimer: The reporter's travel and stay for Oppo F11 Pro launch event in Mumbai have been arranged by Oppo India.
