West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his 'Main Bhi Chowkidar' campaign that was recenlty introduced by the PM.
Taking a jibe at PM Narendra Modi, Mamata Banerjee said, "Asli chowkidar ka thoda hi itna fashion hota hai!"
ENGLISH TRANSLATION: Guards don't do fashion.
Mamata Banerjee critised the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government over the arrest of fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi in London, UK and questioned the party's credebility.
Mamata Banerjee said, "I don't give them [BJP] credit for it [Nirav Modi's arrest in London]."
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said, "First you don't know where Nirav Modi is hiding and then one journalist gives information on his whereabouts. It was all composed like a movie. This government has no credibility."
Mamata Banerjee, in an apparent reference to another fugitive economic offender Vijay Mallya, said, "The other man is also there [the UK]."
Shedding light on Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) employees not getting a month's salary, Mamata Banerjee said, "They [government] have a lot of money and the law is helping them [economic offenders], but poor BSNL workers, they do not get even get salaries!"
NIRAV MODI ARRESTED
Fugitive businessman Nirav Modi has been arrested.
Nirav Modi's arrest on Tuesday (March 19) from Holborn metro station in London, UK came 17 months after the fugitive businessman fled India.
The UK court on Wednesday (March 20) afternoon rejected the bail plea of Nirav Modi. Modi will stay in custody till March 29.
Nirav Modi is accused of defrauding the Punjab National Bank of to the tune of over Rs 13,000 crore.
