Akshay Kumar pushes the envelope with his daredevilry every single time. At the launch of the web-series The End, which marks his debut in the digital space, he set the stage on fire (quite literally).
Though Akshay went all out for the announcement of his digital debut, his wife Twinkle Khanna hilariously trolled him. "Crap! This is how I find out that you decided to set yourself on fire! Come home and I am going to kill you - in case you do survive this! #GodHelpMe," she tweeted.
It looks like Akshay was quite "afraid" of Twinkle's punishment as soon as he stepped foot in the house. "Now that’s something I’d actually be afraid of," he replied.
Akshay said at the event that such jaw-dropping stunts came naturally to him. "Action is within me, I call my self a stuntman first and then an actor," he said.
The End promises to be an edge-of-the seat thriller with a lot of action and intrigue. In a statement given to IANS, the actor revealed that it was on the suggestion of his son Aarav that he decided to foray into the digital world.
"The digital world excited me and I am delighted to make my streaming debut with this show. If I were to make a small confession here, it was my son Aarav who suggested that I make my digital debut as that's what the youth is hooked onto. On this medium, I want to create something extraordinary and connect with them," he said.
Meanwhile, Akshay will be seen next on the big screen in Anurag Singh's Kesari. Based on the battle of Saragarhi, the historical drama will see the actor playing Havildar Ishwar Singh, who led the Sikh regiment against Afghan tribesmen. It is slated to release on March 21.
