Ahead of the Redmi Note 7 Xiaomi launches a new product in India. No, it's not a smartphone. Xiaomi India launched a new home security camera called the Mi Home Security Camera Basic 1080p. The key highlight of the new Mi security camera is the 1080p picture quality that it produces. The Mi Home Security Camera Basic is a toned down version of the already existing Mi Home Security Camera 360-degree and comes with a cheaper price tag of Rs 1,999. The Mi Home Security Camera 360-degree currently sells for Rs 2,699.
The new Mi Home Security Camera Basic 1080p will be available for grabs in India starting tomorrow, February 14. Interested customers can purchase the security camera from Xiaomi India's online store -- mi.com -- 12 noon onwards. Some of the key highlights of the Mi Home Security Camera Basic are -- Full HD 1080p support, ultra-wide 130-degree angle, Infrared night vision, Talkback feature, and AI motion detection. The Mi security camera comes packed with microSD card + NAS storage support.
The Mi Home Security Camera Basic is capable of recording video in 1080p full HD resolution with a maximum frame rate of up to 20fps in order to deliver a clear picture of the user's home in their absence. Unlike the last year's Mi Home Security Camera 360-degree the new Mi Home Security Camera Basic comes with a 130-degree ultra wide angle lens. Xiaomi claims that the new Mi security camera covers almost all areas of the room and "effectively reduces the blind spots". The Mi Home Security Camera Basic also offers a night vision range of up to 10m.
The new security camera from Xiaomi uses advanced AI motion detection feature and superior algorithms to effectively filter out false alarms like curtain movements, light changes, insects, among other things. The Mi Home Security Camera Basic also features an intelligent detection function which enables users to get push notifications whenever some sort of movement is detected. To access this feature the users will first need to turn on the feature via the app.
The Mi Home Security Camera Basic also comes with a talkback feature which improves the overall voice calling experience. Xiaomi explains that the talkback feature "upgrades the voice call experience with a full duplex voice call design. Communicating via cell phone is sure to feel like you are right there with your family."
It also comes packed with picture-in-picture mode which lets users keep a check sleeping baby while watching movies or playing video games on phone. The picture-in-picture mode basically lets users multi-task. The new security camera also lets users have multiple views on a single phone screen at the same time.
