The tensions between India and Pakistan are reaching a breaking point. On Tuesday, India conducted air strikes in Pakistan's Balakot as response to the Pulwama terror attack on February 14. The next day, the Indian government confirmed that an Indian Air Force MiG-21 was shot down by Pakistan, and the pilot, Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, is currently in Pakistan custody. Videos of the officer have been doing the rounds on social media.
While people from both sides of the border have been pleading for the officer's safe return, Pakistani actress Veena Malik posted an extremely insensitive tweet. She wrote, sharing a picture of the officer, "Abhi Abhi Tu Ayo Ho...Achi Mehmaan Nawazi Ho GI Aap Ki."
A furious Swara Bhasker slammed her for her tweet and wrote, "Veena ji.. Shame on you & ur sick mindset. Your glee is just gross! Our officer is a hero- brave, gracious & dignified in the face of capture. At least some decency from that major in you army who was questioning #WingCommanderAbhinandan or the many Pakistanis suing 4 peace #sick."

A troll tried to attack Swara on Veena's tweet, saying, "Yeh lo..." Swara lashed out, "Ji. Aapkey jaisey tang aur ghatiya soch waaley log us taraf bhi hain. Kaafi similarities hain aap dono mein! Aur Ramesh ji, aap Bhartiya Sena mein bharti kyun nahi huey?????"

Meanwhile, other celebrities have been requesting just one thing: Bring Back Abhinandan. Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh and Hrithik Roshan, are also praying that he safely returns to Indian soil.
Raveesh Kumar, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), said in a press briefing on Wednesday afternoon that Pakistan were aiming to attack our military installations after India launched an airstrike on a major terror camp of the Jaish-e-Mohammad.
"The Pakistan Air Force was detected and the Indian Air Force responded instantly. In that aerial engagement, one Pakistan Air Force fighter aircraft was shot down by a MiG 21 Bison of the Indian Air Force. The Pakistani aircraft was seen by ground forces falling from the sky on the Pakistan side. In this engagement, we have unfortunately lost one MiG 21. The pilot is missing in action. Pakistan has claimed that he is in their custody. We are ascertaining the facts," he said.
