Rahul Gandhi was addressing the Congress's praty minority wing's national convention in New Delhi |
The Bharatiya Janata Party thinks it is above the nation but in three months the party will understand that the nation is above them, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi said today as he brought up the 2017 India-China standoff to say that even Beijing knows that PM Modi is not as brave as he says he is.
"The fear [of losing the upcoming general election] is visible on PM Narnedra Modi's face," Rahul Gandhi, who was addressing the Congress's minority wing's national convention, said.
Sporting a new copper-brown jacket, Rahul Gandhi said that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is the real controlling authority behind the government. "Narendra Modi chehra hai aur RSS ke boss Mohan Bhagwat remote control," Rahul Gandhi said (Narendra Modi is the face of the government but RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is the one controlling it).
"Teen mahine mein desh inko bata dega ki desh upar hai aur yeh log neeche," Rahul Gandhi said (In three months, the country will show the BJP its place).
Rahul Gandhi also raked up 2017's Doklam standoff. "China jaan gaya ki iski chappan inch ki nahi chaar inch ki chaati hai." (China discovered that Modi is not as brave as he says he is.)
The Doklam standoff was an over two-month confrontation between the Indian and Chinese armies. There was no violence, but soldiers from both the militaries literally stared down each other for more than two months as diplomats furiously worked behind the scene to resolve the conflict.
Speaking at the Congress's event today, Rahul Gandhi called PM Modi "darpok" (coward) and once again challenged the prime minister to a ten-minute debate on stage.
