Moto G7, G7 Plus, G7 Power and G7 Play launched: Price, Specifications and everything you need to know

After months of leaks and rumours, the Moto G7 is finally here. The leaks had already shown what to expect from the next Moto G lineup in 2019. The Moto G7 series spawns four models Moto G7, G7 Play, G7 Power and G7 Plus. All the new models are now focused on delivering a premium smartphone experience without demanding a premium pricing. The new Moto G7 will be coming to Brazil and Mexico initially, with an India launch coming later in the year.
The 2019 Moto G7 range starts at R$ 999 (approximately Rs 19,000). The G7 Plus, which is the most premium in the range, starts at R$ 1899 (approximately Rs 36,500). The G7 Power is focused on delivering longer battery stamina while the G7 Plus aims to offer a premium camera experience. The G7 Play is the entry-level model while the standard G7 offers premium features for a lower price.

Moto G7 series specifications

Display: Moto G7 Play gets a 5.7-inch HD+ LCD display with a big notch. The G7 Power gets a 6.2-inch HD+ display with a big notch. The G7 and G7 Plus get Full HD+ 6.2-inch LCD display with a smaller waterdrop notch on top.
Processor: The Moto G7 Play, G7 Power and G7 are built around an octa-core Snapdragon 632 chipset. The G7 Plus gets a more powerful Snapdragon 636 chipset.
RAM: The G7 Play gets 2GB RAM while the G7 Power gets 3GB RAM. The G7 and G7 Plus get 4GB RAM.
Storage: The G7 Play and G7 Power get 32GB storage, which is expandable to 128GB. The G7 and G7 Plus get 64GB storage, with the G7 Plus getting 512GB expandable storage.
Rear camera: The G7 Play and G7 Power get a 12-megapixel single rear camera. The G7 gets a 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup. The G7 Plus gets 16-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera system with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS).
Front camera: The G7, G7 Play and G7 Power get an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The G7 Plus gets a 12-megapixel front camera with an F2.0 aperture lens.
Battery: The Moto G7, G7 Play and G7 Plus get 3000mAh battery while the G7 Power gets a 5000mAh unit. All the phones, except for the G7 Play, come with support for 15W TurboCharger. The G7 Play comes with a 10W Rapid Charger.
Software: The entire Moto G7 lineup will run on Android 9 Pie with Moto Experiences out-of-the-box.

Moto G7 series features

--The entire Moto G7 lineup adopts a notched display. However, the G7 Power and G7 Play adopt a wider iPhone X-esque notch while the G7 and G7 Plus get a waterdrop notch along with slim chin.
--The Moto G7 series runs on a slightly dated range of Snapdragon 600 series chipset. The G7, G7 Play and G7 Power run on a Snapdragon 632 chipset, which is essentially a mild upgrade to the Snapdragon 625 chipset. The Snapdragon 632 still sports eight energy efficient cores, which may not translate to fast performance when compared to its rivals. The Snapdragon 636 on the G7 Plus is slightly focused on performance with custom Kryo cores but is essentially a midrange chipset.
--The G7, G7 Power and G7 Plus get smaller 3000mAh batteries but come with 15W TurboPower charging. The G7 Play is the only model with a 10W charger.
-- The G7 Plus is the first smartphone in the Moto G series to feature Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). What this means is that photos can be sharper and video could be more stable when you aren’t stationary. OIS is a feature restricted to flagship models.
--The G7 Play and G7 Power have single rear cameras, but use AI algorithms to do portrait mode photos. The G7 and G7 Plus have a secondary 5-megapixel camera for gauging depth data.
--The G7 range comes with Moto Experiences that bring exclusive features. There’s a one-button navigation option along with lift to wake up’ and more.

Moto G7 India prices and availability

The Moto G7 Play starts at R$ 999 (approximately Rs 19,208) while the G7 Power starts at R$ 1399 (approximately Rs 26,899). The standard G7 costs R$1599 (approximately Rs 30,745) while the G7 Plus will be selling for R$ 1899 (approximately Rs 36,513).
The new Moto G7 is ready for purchase in Brazil and Mexico and is slated to come to the Indian market very soon. However, Motorola hasn’t announced the launch date for the Moto G7 family in India for now, but we can expect to get these phones in the Indian market in the next few months. The G7 will range will compete with the likes of Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi Note 7, Nokia 6.1 Plus and 7.1 and Honor 8X.
