- Charminar has seen thousands of Hegdes come and go: Owaisi
The only skill development Anant Kumar Hegde has done is to ask people to maim and kill others, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said today.
Owaisi was responding to comments made by Anant Kumar Hegde in Kodagu on Sunday, including remarks that Hindu boys should break the hands of boys from other religions who touch Hindu women, and that the iconic Charminar in Hyderabad wasn't built by Muslims.
Asaduddin Owaisi tweeted an article from the Deccan Chronicle, in which these comments were reported.
"[The] Charminar has stood tall as a symbol of Muslim contribution to the Deccan and India," Owaisi said.
"It has seen thousands of Hegdes come and go; it will see another thousand."
On Sunday, Anant Kumar Hegde on Sunday also said the Taj Mahal in Agra was not built by Muslims and that history was proof of this claim.
"[The] Taj Mahal was not built by Muslims. Shah Jahan in his autobiography has said he bought this palace from King Jayasimha," he said.
"It's a Shiv Mandir that was built by King Paramatheertha, which was known as Tejo Mahalaya," he said. "Tejo Mahalaya became Taj Mahal. If we keep sleeping like this, most of our houses will also be renamed as masjids. In future, Lord Ram will be called Jahapana and Sita will become Bibi."
