Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy held his first cabinet meeting with his five deputy chief ministers and cabinet colleagues at the secretariat in Amravati on Monday.
The cabinet decided to set up judicial inquiries on the alleged irregularities in various departments during the tenure of the former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. It also announced that ministers will be removed immediately on corruption charges.
It also cancelled all contracts with outsourcing agencies and consultancies which were hired by the previous TDP government with immediate effect.
To take its welfare schemes to every door step, the cabinet appointed village volunteers. Village secretariats have also been appointed and will be operational by October 2.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's cabinet also cleared his party's flagship Rythu Bharosa programme, which will be implemented from October 15. Under this scheme, farmers will get Rs 12,500 as cash support every year. A committee of ministers will supervise the implementation of the scheme.
The cabinet decided to form Andhra Pradesh state Rythu commission for development and welfare of farmers and for market stabilisation of agriculture produce. The chief minister will act as chairman with six or seven members including farmers and other agricultural experts.
The government will also provide interest-free crop loans to farmers.
The cabinet also took a decision to allot housing plots to all eligible people and register the plots in the name of women on the Ugadi festival this year. Next year onwards 25 lakh houses will be constructed under the YSR housing scheme.
YSRCP government also decided to pay Rs 15,000 to each woman who sends her children to school and announced that the scheme will be inaugurated on January 26 next year.
