Nawazuddin Siddiqui has acted in many films directed by Anurag Kashyap.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui may have been working in the Hindi film industry since 1999, but it was only after the 2012 film Gangs Of Wasseypur and its 2013 sequel Gangs Of Wasseypur 2 that the actor came into people's notice. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the second Gangs Of Wasseypur saw Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role. Now we hear that Anurag Kashyap will be seen showing his acting chops in Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer Bole Chudiya, which is being directed by the actor's brother Shamas Siddiqui.
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Anurag Kashyap said, "Yes, I am doing the film, but that’s all I know for now. I have agreed to do the film as this is the first time Nawaz has asked me to do anything and I trust him."
Before Gangs Of Wasseypur, the actor-director duo first worked together in the 1999 film Shool. While Nawaz had a brief appearance in the film, Anurag wrote the dialogues of the National Award-winning film. In his 2007 film Black Friday, Anurag Kashyap signed Nawaz for another cameo. They again collaborated for Vicky Kaushal-starrer Raman Raghav 2.0, in which Nawazuddin Siddiqui played the lead role. In Anurag's 2018 directorial Mukkabaaz, Nawaz featured in the song Mushkil Hai Apna Mel Priye.
According to the daily, Anurag is yet to finalise his shooting dates for the film. The film was recently in news after a fallout between Mouni Roy, who was earlier signed as the leading lady of the film, and producer Rajesh Bhatia. Mouni walked out of the film.
Nawaz and Anurag share a close bond and can be often seen supporting each other. In an earlier interview to the daily, Anurag had revealed that Nawaz flew to Bareilly for a day to shoot the Mukkabaaz song on his request. He said, "Nawaz will do anything for me, I love him."
Anurag Kashyap is currently shooting for his next directorial in Mumbai, which marks the Hindi debut of Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew. The film also features Mirzya actor Saiyami Kher.
