16 days and no more: Congress’s Salman Khurshid attacks PM Modi


Salman Khurshid is one of the many Congress leaders who slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his recent corruption jibe on Rajiv Gandhi.
Congress leader Salman Khurshid on Tuesday sharply attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter for his recent attack on Rajiv Gandhi. PM Modi had lebelled the former prime minister as "corrupt no. 1".
Condemning PM Modi's comments, Salman Khurshid said: "Indian democracy and freedom of conscience are confronting toxic mix of state and non-state actors. Whilst latter have prospered state-ruling party patronage for five years, PM no longer hides his vicious barbs even angst martyrs of the land."
Khurshid further said that the countdown for the Narendra Modi-led government has already begun and five "horrible" years will come to an end soon.

PM Modi, who had earlier said that Rajiv Gandhi "ended his life as bhrashtachari (corrupt) no.1", amplified his attack further on Monday when he challenged the Congress party to fight the remainder of the polls in the name of "the Bofors-accused former PM".
With 5 phases of the Lok Sabha elections 2019 already over, there are just two phases left before the final counting on May 23 when results will be declared.
While the BJP-led government is seeking a repeat of 2014, Congress will be hoping to turn the tide in its favour.
