The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday took a jibe at Congress leader Siddaramaiah for attending Eid celebrations, while giving a visit to his flood-affected constituency a miss.
Former Karnataka CM had on August 9 said that he was unable to travel to his constituency Badami during floods as he recently had cataract surgery and the doctor has advised him against travel.
"Doctors have advised travel restrictions as I had undergone cataract surgery few days back because of which I could not go to Badami to assess flood situation," he had said.

As the images of Siddaramaiah attending an Eid feast surfaced on the internet, the Karnataka BJP claimed that the Congress leader had time for feasts but not for his constituents.
"Twitter preacher @siddaramaiah has time to attend Biryani party at Congress MLC’s house. But he doesn’t have time to visit flood effected Badami constituency. If eating Biryani is over make some effort to visit your constituency & listen to plead of people who voted u," the BJP said on Twitter.

Since the day flood wreaked havoc in Karnataka, the former CM has been consistantly tweeting about CM BS Yeddyurappa's inability to handle the situation without a proper cabinet.
"There should not be any politics in this distress situation. It will be very difficult for BS Yediyurappa to act alone & is quite impossible to ensure justice in all the departments. I urge him to immediately form the cabinet & make ministers in-charge for each district," one of Siddaramaiah's tweet said.
The flood situation in Karnataka is grim. At least 42 people have been killed and 12 others are missing. Around 2700 villages in 17 districts have been affected. Rescue teams have evacuated around 6 lakh people.
