A Chimpanzee escapes his cell in China zoo
A Chimpanzee named Yang Yang broke out from his cell in Hefei Wildlife Park, China on Friday morning. The 12-year-old chimp after escaping from his enclosure was seen charging towards some of the zoo visitors and creating havoc. Finally, it was shot down with a tranquiliser dart and returned to his cage.
The chimp Yang Yang also kicked one of the zoo employees to the ground. The entire incident was captured on video.
After the chimp escaped his cell by climbing up a fallen tree, the visitors of the zoo were asked to evacuate, but some curious onlookers stayed right outside the gate to see what the fuss was about. In the video, one can clearly see Yang Yang charging towards the gate while the zoo visitors are standing outside.
The zoo employee who was trying to gain the attention of the chimp was also kicked down by Yang Yang. All attempts to persuade Yang Yang back to his cell were of no use. He finally climbed on to a roof where a policeman shot him with a tranquiliser gun.
He was then safely returned to his enclosure. Zoo authorities said that nobody apart from the zookeeper was injured in the incident.
