A day after the official team of the Indian Cricket World Cup was announced, actor Rishi Kapoor took at the dig at the players for sporting beards. The 66-year-old actor, who is undergoing treatment in New York, took to Twitter to share a picture of the 15 players including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja, and asked "why most of our cricket players sport facial hair."
He wrote, "Don't take this picture as a reference point but why do most of our cricket players sport full facial hair(beards)? All Samson's?(remember he had his strength in his hair) Surely they look smart and dashing without it. Just an observation!"
He compared the players to Samson, last of the judges of the ancient Israelites, who has his strength in his hair.
Soon many of his followers applauded the actor for making a "great observation." While some said that everyone is following in the footsteps of Virat Kohli, others said that MS Dhoni is the only exception and that's what makes him the best player.
